The main purpose of this park, which forms part of the project Tenerife verde (Green Tenerife), is to provide an urban green space for the town. At the same time, it also offers a number of sports and leisure facilities for local residents to enjoy.
The proposal pays particular attention to the design and placement of the landscaped slopes and the wooded area surrounding the sports track, in order to minimize the visual impact of the track while allowing it to construct its own atmosphere. This allows the “green” nature of the park to predominate from all angles, both from the outside and from within the park itself.
The network of footpaths that guides visitors through the park and sketches out the main routes to be followed also contributes to spatially differentiating the different zones; in this way, the leisure areas at one end of the park can be enjoyed in peace even while sporting activities are going on elsewhere.
For the same reason, the small drinks kiosk has been placed in an access area that is more closely linked to the footpath leading from the park to the town centre.
Built using a sole material element that unfolds over three dimensions, the kiosk defines a border in this space, and offers a shady place where visitors can stop and rest.
